Why or What is a Hippodilla?
When my daughter was young... about 18 months old... she was learning her animals via flashcards which gave a picture and their name. Everytime I would come to the picture of the hippo, she would shout 'Hippodilla'. Normally I would correct her, but she was so cute when she said 'Hippodilla', that I just let her stick with it. So my daughter actually came up with the name, and there she is in the banner!
What is the purpose of this site?
Some of you may not know that I am currently in the military with over 17 years of service. I've served a 12-month deployment and appreciated all of the love shown through care-packages sent from home. I am active in soldier family-support activities with my wife being co-president of our local support group. I am currently on active duty orders for 2 and a half months away from home so I was recently reminded of the lonliness being away from home can bring.
